Canadian Gardens Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

• Pink: Cut SIX (6) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Green 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
• Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 4 3/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
• Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
• Green: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Pink 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 3 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
• White: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the Pink 3 7/8″ squares which will create a Square in a Square.)
