Mason Jar Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Gold: Cut ONE (1) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangle. (This is flanked on the left & right side by the White
2″ x 5″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.) - Blue: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/8″ square. (This is paired with the White 2 3/8″ square, which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangle. (This is flanked on the left & right side by the results of the Blue 2 3/8″ square. As needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 6 1/2″ x 8″ rectangle. (This is the “Mason Jar” itself. It’s flanked on the left & right side by the White 3 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ rectangles.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangle. (This is the very top of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 5″ rectangles. (These will flank the left & right sides of the Gold 2″ x
3 1/2″ rectangle as needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ x 9″ rectangles. (These will flank the “Mason Jar” itself. The Blue
6 1/2″ x 8″ rectangle as needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/8″ square. On the back side of the square, draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Blue 2 3/8″ square, which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
