Dashing Through the Year

Quilt Therapy Posted on November 16, 2011 by TK HarrisonNovember 16, 2011

Wow, I certainly did not realize that 2011 is almost over!  Well, maybe I did – I think I am in denial.  Our oldest daughter graduates in 2013 and she informed me last night that she only had EIGHTY weeks left until graduation!  Did I really need to know that???

🙁

But, today has been a day of setting up all of the Quilt Dash, Mystery Quilt Dash and Quilt Block Dash games for next year.  Oh my, imagine the quilt designs that have been flowing through my head to go with the fun of the games – I probably won’t be able to sleep tonight, with so much fabric, colors and patterns floating around!

Hope You’ll Join Us!

Houston Quilt Market 2011: Riley Blake Designs Part 1

Quilt Therapy Posted on November 14, 2011 by TK HarrisonNovember 14, 2011

For the past couple of years, Riley Blake Designs has offered up the best eye candy, in my opinion, for a fabric manufacturer’s booth.  SO full of not just quilts, but just great quilted fun and quiltspiriation.  I took so many photos of their booth this year, I’m going to have to break their booth photographs into two separate blog posts!  No need for you to listen to my drivel, enjoy the eye candy!

Houston Quilt Market 2011: Leona Hardin Machine Quilter Extraordinaire!

Quilt Therapy Posted on November 11, 2011 by TK HarrisonNovember 11, 2011

The one request I received (aside from stopping at various quilt booths) was from Leona Hardin to go to the Festival of Quilts to take photos of the absolutely stunning quilt she designed and quilted.  The quilt is all raw-edge foundation applique with liquid stitch, then machine quilted over the raw edge while quilting.  This technique has become her signature style!  Such vision and talent – totally jealous!

Houston Quilt Market 2011: Me and My Sister Designs

Quilt Therapy Posted on November 10, 2011 by TK HarrisonNovember 10, 2011

As is a custom, I enjoying going to see Barb and Mary of Me and My Sister Designs.  They just crack me UP!

Seems ONE of them was sleeping, though, when I took their annual photograph:

This was an adorable addition to their booth, showing that quilting seed were planted there!

And these are the quilt patterns they were promoting:

Thanks ladies!  Had a great time with you and will see you next year!
