Countdown to a Blessed Christmas – 10 Days Until Christmas

We had our annual quilt group Christmas party last night – I’ll show off my presents at a later time.  The GRAND news was that one of the ladies in our group wanted a charity quilt that we’d made – and she was willing to donate funds to purchase it.  After a little debate as to its worth, we agreed on a price and she is donating it to my local Girl Scout troop!!!  Wow, what generosity….what a way to get a new troop off to a great start!

Thoughts for this Christmas Countdown Day:  I am still awed and inspired by those who give so freely, especially to a grand cause such as Girl Scouts.  Thank you God, for sharing your love and gifts with others.

I have had so much fun this weekend, spending time with Patrick Lose 🙂

I met Patrick virtually last year, as he placed some advertising with me.  Then, when we went to Quilt Market in October, I met him in person – and absolutely loved every single pattern he had there!  Since one of my jobs was to search out new and exciting patterns for Linda at www.AbbiMays.com, I couldn’t help but make some purchases from Patrick for Linda’s quilt shop.

And this weekend, Patrick (in quilting spirit only) and I 😉 put together his truly delightful gingerbread table runner, called Sugar & Spice (which are ON SALE at www.AbbiMays.com right now!!!):

This was an extremely quick and simple project – probably taking me 5 hours, from start-to-finish (including quilting and binding).  I have 2 more planned to finish before Christmas — at least I hope to get them done!   Go ahead, check out what Linda has at www.AbbiMays.com of Patrick’s patterns – I’m sure you’ll be just as excited as I was to find them, and the ease with which they go together.

Thoughts for this Christmas Countdown Day:  Take some time to de-stress with quilting.  Especially if you have a pattern or two that are simple to make!  And yummy to look at!

Tamitha has sent out a note that they only need a few more donations to reach their goal for Bibles for the natives they minister to in Ecuador:

Thank you to everyone who has responded to the need for Bibles in the mountain communities we visit. We only need a few more donations to reach our goal for this project. We have found some great Bibles in both Spanish & Quichua and can’t wait to deliver the Bibles and hold training courses!

Thoughts for this Christmas Countdown Day:  Giving the gift of a Bible, in one’s own language, opens up a whole new world of wonder for others.  And wow, what a gift that is!
