Liberty Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Red 4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. Once sewn together it’ll be the center of this quilt block.)
- Red: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are the upper right-hand & the lower left-hand corners of this quilt block.
- Red: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Blue 4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. Once sewn together it’ll be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut THREE (3) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired on ONE (1) side with the Blue 4 1/4″ squares. Then they’re paired on ONE (1) other side with the Red 4 1/2″ squares. In addition they’re also paired on TWO (2) sides with the Blue/Red Quarter-Square Triangle in the center of this quilt block.)
