Thanksgiving Quilt Block is a Free Pattern for a 12" quilt block at QuiltTherapy.com!

Thanksgiving Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Peach: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles.)
  • Peach: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the Orange 6 3/8″ square which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • Peach: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 4 3/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
  • Orange: Cut TEN (10) 3 3/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 3/4″ squares which will create TWENTY (20) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Orange: Cut ONE (1) 6 3/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the Peach 3 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Peach 3 3/4″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles.)
  • White: Cut TEN (10) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Orange 3 3/4″ squares which will create TWENTY (20) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Peach 4 3/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
