Queen’s Treasure Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 3 1/2″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 5″ rectangles. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • Violet: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Purple 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Violet: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ square, which will partially create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
  • Violet: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Purple 2 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. Once all of them are sewn together they’ll create the center of this quilt block.)
