Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Light Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White
4 3/4″ square, which will create a Square in a Square. It will also be the center of this quilt block.) - Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square. (This will be flanked by the results of the Light Blue 3 7/8″ squares, which will create a Square in a Square. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Yellow 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Nameless Star Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
Nameless Star Variation Quilt Block

- Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Green 3 7/8″ squares, which will create the second Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Purple 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
