Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares.
- Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares.
- Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square.
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
- White: Cut ONE (1) 6″ square.
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/4″ squares.On the back side of each square, draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.

Can you please tell me the size of the purple square in the middle please.
Goodness, Karen, I can’t believe what I did! I mislabeled the fabric cuts on this quilt block. Instead of the White 3 1/4″ square it should’ve been a Purple 3 1/4″ square. I’ve corrected it on my blog post and now have given you the correct size of the cut to make. I sure hope that you can now put this quilt block together, but if you’re still having a problem with it, please use my contact form (found in the menu bar just below my header), and let me know!

Awww, shucks. Thanks for the compliment! I’m just doing what I wanted, when I started quilting 35+ years ago, and that is access to quilt block patterns that didn’t break the bank!

No need to apologize, Karen! When it comes to cutting out quilt blocks, it’s a very precise measurement & we expect it to fit together as planned.
