Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Dark Pink: Cut TWO (2) 7 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the White 7 1/4″ squares, which will created FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 7 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the Dark Pink 7 1/4″ squares, which will created FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Gold: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are flanked on TWO (2) sides by the results of the Gold 2 7/8″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Gold: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Red: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the White
    2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 6 1/8″ square, which will create a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 6 1/8″ square. (This will be flanked by the Red 2 7/8″ squares. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Gold 2 7/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These will flank the results of the Red 3 1/2″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These will be flanked by the results of the Green 2 7/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create Eight (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create the second Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 2 7/8″ squares, which will create Eight (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Purple 3 1/2″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the Green 4 1/2″ square, which will create the first Square in a Square. It will be the center of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Turquoise: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This will be the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
  • Turquoise:  Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. You only need THREE (3) of these Half-Square Triangles for this quilt block.)
  • Turquoise: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This will be the lower left-hand corner of this quilt block.)
  • White:  Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Turquoise 4 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. You only need THREE (3) of these Half-Square Triangles for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Turquoise 5 1/4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
