Kansas Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

• Purple: Cut FIVE (5) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create TEN (10) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles will help create the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block. ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles will help create the center of this quilt block.)
• Purple: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White
  3 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut TEN (10) 2 1/2″ squares. (These will flank the results of the Purple 2 7/8″ squares & will help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
• White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These will be flanked by the results of the Purple 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut FIVE (5) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Purple 2 7/8″ squares, which will create TEN (10) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles will help create the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block. ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles will help create the center of this quilt block.)
