City Streets Quilt Block




Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 4″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • Dark Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 4″ strips. (These will flank either the left or right of the Red 4″ squares.)
  • Dark Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 5″ strips. (These will flank either the top or bottom of the Red 4″ squares.)
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 5″ strips. (These will flank either the left or right of the Dark Pink strips.)
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 6″ strips. (These will flank either the top or bottom of the Dark Pink strips.)
  • White: Cut TWO) 1 1/2″ x 6″ strips. (These will be the vertical center’s of the upper and lower portion’s of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 1 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ strip. (This will be the horizontal center of this quilt block.)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 6 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 6 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 6 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square, draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 6 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block)

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Dk. Green: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will flank the Dk. Green 4 1/2″ square on ONE (1) side & on ONE (1) other side they’ll flank the White 4 1/2″ square.)
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Green 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. ONE (1) of these will be the lower left-hand corner of this quilt block & ONE (1) other will be the upper right-hand corner of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will be the lower left-hand & the upper right-hand corner’s of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square, draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 4 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles.   • Purple: Cut FIVE (5) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create TEN (10) Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles will help create the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block. ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles will help create the center of this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White
    3 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TEN (10) 2 1/2″ squares. (These will flank the results of the Purple 2 7/8″ squares & will help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These will be flanked by the results of the Purple 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
