Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Green: Cut FIVE (5) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares.
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Green 2 1/4″ squares to create half-square triangles.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.

  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • Dark Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips. (These will be flanked, on both sides by the results of the Purple 2 1/4″ squares and the White 2 1/4″ squares, which will make EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, to create the outside centers needed for this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will be be paired with the White 2 1/4″ squares to create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles that are needed for this quilt block.)
  • Purple: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares to create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese as is needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWELVE (12) 2″ squares. (These will flank both sides of the EIGHT (8) Flying Geese as is needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FIVE (5) 3 1/2″ squares. (FOUR (4) of these will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block and the remaining White 3 1/2″ square will be the center of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ squares. (These will be be paired with the White 2 1/4″ squares to create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles that are needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the results of the Purple 2 1/4″ squares to create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese as is needed for this quilt block.)

  • Fuchsia: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips. (These will be flanked, on both sides by the results of the Fuchsia 2 1/4″ squares and the White 2 1/4″ squares, which will make EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, to create the outside centers needed for this quilt block.)
  • Fuchsia: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.  (These will be paired with the Fuchsia 2 1/4″ squares to create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles to create the outside centers needed for this quilt block.)
  • Fuchsia: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares to create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese as is needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWELVE (12) 2″ squares. (These will flank both sides of the EIGHT (8) Flying Geese as is needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut FOUR (3) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the four corners as is needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Fuchsia 2 1/4″ squares to create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles which will create the outside centers needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank all FOUR (4) sides of the Fuchsia 2 1/2″ square to create the Square in a Square, as well as the center, as is needed for this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will be flanked by the results of EIGHT (8) of the Fuchsia 2 1/4″ squares to create EIGHT (8) Flying Geese as is needed for this quilt block.)
