The first set of instructions for my 2018 Row of the Month quilt, “Windowsill Wonders” has been posted at BOMquilts.com! This is Part 1 of two parts for Rows #1 and #9. Next month (April), the instructions for piecing the blocks will be revealed.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Purple: Cut TEN (10) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut TEN (10) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Red: Cut EIGHTEEN (18) 1 3/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut TWELVE (12) 1 3/4″ squares.
  • White: THREE (3) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 13 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips.
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/4″ squares.
