Star Power: Evening Star Quilt Block & Evening Star Variation Quilt Block

Evening Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue: Cut TWENTY (20) 1 1/2″ squares.
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips.
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square.
  • White: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 1 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares.
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Purple: Cut TWENTY-FIVE (25) 1 1/2″ squares.
  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut TWENTY (20) 1 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips.

  • Medium Green: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares
  • Dark Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square, draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Dark Green: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares.

Many Pointed Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square, draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side of each square, draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 6″ square.
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/4″ squares.
