As I’ve said for most of my Flashback Tuesday posts – it’s always fun to revisit the free quilt patterns at BOMquilts.com because very few quilt patterns ever go out of style – just need to use different fabrics and in a few years, you can call the pattern retro! 🙂
It hasn’t been but a year since this quilt was published at BOMquilts.com but it is truly a stunning lap quilt and is worth repeating. It goes together very quickly, even though there are nine different blocks – each block is designed based on the center block – known as the Chocolate Cake block. I gifted this to a very special couple as they needed just a bit more chocolate and roses (and romance) in their lives. I think many of us could use a quilt to remind us that romance needs to be an integral part of our lives – with whomever you choose as your partner!
This six-month 2007 BOM medallion quilt is truly stunning! Especially if you can find the right fabric to make center of the quilt pop. The center medallion is an embroidered 10 1/2″ unfinished block, so you can either use an embroidered square or make a quilt block of the same size.
