I had SO much fun making this Pinwheel Snowflakes for Winter Joy six-month block of the month (BOM) quilt out of the beautiful “Winter Joy” fabric from Clothworks in 2009.
You still have time to start and finish it for the upcoming holidays! It really goes together quickly and will work great with the newest Christmas quilt fabric collections that have recently come on the market! It would also work great with non-holiday fabric. Anything goes!

This was a raw edge applique using pinking shears and a pinking blade on a rotary cutter. Really fun to make and the special young lady I gifted it to absolutely loved it!
I have been shirking my duties by not sharing when I have put new quilt block instructions up at BOMquilts.com for my 2014 block of the month quilt, “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not.” Forgive me. This summer has been crazy, between my numerous medical appointments, my husband’s schedule and our four kid’s work and/or camp schedules. CRAZY!

Since we have been celebrating “Christmas in July 2014” at BOMquilts.com, I thought it appropriate to flashback on another holiday quilt gem from our “Christmas in July 2008” selections – “Golden Royal Layers“:
This finished out to be an absolutely gorgeous quilt…I just wish I remember who I gifted it to! LOL
Try making it with your favorite holiday fabrics that are on the market now, but be sure you find a fabric that has the fabric panels as that’s one of the things that really makes this quilt stand out!
This was just last year’s BOMquilts.com’s block of the month quilt, but it is absolutely gorgeous using wonderful batiks!
