Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the White 4 1/4″ square & the results of the Pink 4 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Split Quarter-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the White
4 1/4″ square & the results of the Purple 3 7/8″ square. Which will create FOUR (4) Split Quarter-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.) - White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Purple 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Pink
3 7/8″ squares & the results of the Purple 3 7/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Split Quarter-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.) - White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the Purple
