Domino Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Tan: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s paired with the FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
- Tan: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired on ONE (1) side with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FIVE (5) Snowball Corners. They’re also paired with the White 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Tan: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 1 7/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Tan 3 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. These are flanked by the results of the Tan 3 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut THREE (3) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the Blue 1 7/8″ squares as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles. (These are paired on ONE (1) side with the Tan 3 3/8″ squares & they’re also paired on ONE (1) other side by the White/Tan Flying Geese. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
