1941 Nine-Patch Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips. (These will flank on all FOUR (4) sides, the White 4 1/2″ square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides, by the Green 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Gray 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “1941 Nine-Patch Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
