Flying Stars Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Light Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will be paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares, to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, which will also be the FOUR (4) corners as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will be paired with the Rose 3 1/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Light Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank ONE (1) side of the results of the White 6″ square to create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut TWO 3 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will be paired with the Rose 3 1/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank ONE (1) side of the results of the White 6″ square to create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
- Rose: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares, to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)
- Rose: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Light Pink 3 1/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Rose: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Pink 3 1/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 3″ square. (This will be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Light Pink 3 1/4″ squares, to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, which will also be the FOUR (4) corners as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. (These will be paired with the Rose 3 1/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 6″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked on one side by the results of the Light Pink 3 1/4″ squares, and on the other side by the results of the Pink 3 1/4″ squares, to create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
