Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will be used on all FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need SIX (6) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will be paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares, to created THREE (3) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ squares. (These will be flanked on two sides, by the Blue 4 1/2″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need SIX (6) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will be paired with the results of the White 5 1/4″ squares, to created THREE (3) Quarter-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Triplet Quilt Blocks,” you will end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
