Quilted Kitchen: Smokehouse Quilt Block & Oven Smoked Ribs Recipe
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Green: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut each square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 5 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Green: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the White
2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.) - Green: Cut ONE (1) 9 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this block. (These are flanked by the Dark Green 3 3/8″ square & by the results of the White 5 1/4″ square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Dark Green: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are flanked on TWO (2) sides by the results of the White 5 1/4″ square & on the other TWO (2) sides by the results of the Green 9 1/4″ square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of each square draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.
- White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the Dark Green 3 3/8″ square & the results of the Green 9 1/4″ square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the Green 2 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
