Best Wishes Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ x 4 3/4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares & with the results of the Blue 2 7/8″ squares. As needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the White
2 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.) - Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank on both sides, the White 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked on both sides the White 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles & the White 1 7/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles & the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ square. Which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWELVE (12) 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles. (These will flank the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ squares, to create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 2 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These are paired with the results of the Blue 2 7/8″ square, which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ square. On the back side draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with FOUR (4) of the 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles to create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
