Arctic Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Teal: Cut SIX (6) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles. When THREE (3) of these Half-Square Triangles are sewn together, with ONE (1) of the Aqua/White Half-Square Triangles they’ll create ONE (1) Four-Patch. There are FOUR (4) Four-Patches in each corner of this quilt block.)
- Aqua: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. When ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles are sewn together, with THREE (3) of the Teal/White Half-Square Triangles, they’ll create ONE (1) Four-Patch. There are FOUR (4) Four-Patches in each corner of this quilt block.)
- Aqua: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese.)
- White: Cut SIX (6) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Teal 2 7/8″ squares which will create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles. When THREE (3) of these Half-Square Triangles are sewn together, with ONE (1) of the Aqua/White Half-Square Triangles they’ll create ONE (1) Four-Patch.
