Quilted Halloween Kitchen: Pumpkin Quilt Block & Pumpkin Bread Recipe

Pumpkin Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Green: Cut ONE 2 3/4″ square. (This is paired with the White 2 3/4″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. Only ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles is needed for this quilt block. Once it is sewn together it is paired with the Green 2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle. Then it is paired with the White 2″ square which will create the “stem” of the Pumpkin.)
  • Green: Cut ONE (1) 2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle. (This is paired with the Green/White Half-Square Triangle & will help create the “stem” of the pumpkin.)
  • Orange: Cut ONE (1) 8 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangle. (This is the body of the pumpkin. It’s paired with the White 3 3/4″ square. It is also paired with the White 4 1/4″ square. Once it is all sewn together it will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 2 3/4″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Green 2 3/4″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. Only ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles is needed for this quilt block. Once it is sewn together it is paired with the Green 2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle. Then it is paired with the White 2″ square which will create the “stem” of the Pumpkin.)
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 2″ square. (This is paired with the Green/White Half-Square Triangle. Once it is sewn together it will help create the “stem” of the pumpkin.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Orange 8 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangle. Once they are sewn together they will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Orange 8 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangle. Once they are sewn together they will create TWO (2) Snowball Corners. They will also be the lower left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the “stem” of the pumpkin. They are also the upper left-hand & the upper right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
