Bright Stars Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

• Maroon: Cut FIVE (5) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be the center’s of each of the “stars” as needed for this quilt block.)
• Orange: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares, which will create SIXTEEN (16) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These will be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
• White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips. (These will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides, by the results of the Orange 2 3/8″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are flanked by the results of the Orange 2 3/8″ squares, which will create SIXTEEN (16) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)

• Gold: Cut SIXTEEN (16) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 4 1/4″ squares, which will create SIXTEEN (16) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These will be the four corner’s of this quilt block.)
• White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips. (These will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides, by the results of the Gold 2 3/8″ squares, as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut TEN (10) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Blue 2 5/8″ squares, which will create FIVE (5) Square in a Square’s, as needed for this quilt block.)
• White: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
