South Carolina Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • Blue: Cut TEN (10) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • White: TEN (10) 2 3/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut FIVE (5) 2 1/2″ squares.

South Carolina Variation Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Blue: Cut FIVE (5) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Gray: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/4″ squares.
  • Gray: Cut TEN (10) 3 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut TEN (10) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Light Turquoise: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • Light Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Purple: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • Turquoise: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square.

  • Light Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Medium Blue: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Medium Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. You only need TWO (2) triangles for this block.
  • Lavender: Cut THREE (3) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. You only need TEN (10) triangles for this block.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
