Quilting and Bread Making

I am a quilter.Â My husband has become a bread maker.Â When I compare the two crafts, they are not as different as one would think.

Quilting:

Choose or design a pattern
Choose fabric
Measure and cut out fabric
Piece blocks or the quilt top
Quilt the quilt top
Bind the quilt
Label the quilt
Use the quilt for some quilty love

Bread Making:

Choose or create a recipe
Choose the ingredients
Measure the ingredients
Combine the ingredients
Place bread in a baking dish
Score the top of the bread
Bake the bread
Cut the bread
Eat the bread for some yummy in your tummy love

Go ahead – make a quilt or make some bread.Â Both bring different kinds of love but both are also loved!

Food for Quilting Colors

The Baker is in the House!

My husband is quite the baker – especially of bread!Â He truly enjoys making us luscious treats to enjoy.Â Here is his latest culinary conquest:

They look as good as they tasted – can you just imagine the SMELL that these lovely rolls make while baking?Â He has a knack for baking breads and we definitely love nearly all of his baking efforts.Â YUMMO!

The colors that come together on a dinner plate are sometimes just too much fun to imagine being combined in a quilt.Â Food is life, and quilt therapy comes from all aspects of life.Â Can you see some quilt colors in these meals, as I do?

Quilt Friends: Peanut Butter Cornflake Cookies

If you have all of your ingredients together, this is a 15 minute recipe – but the pleasure of this delectable treat lasts for hours!

Ingredients:

1 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
4 1/2 c. Corn Flakes

Directions:

In a large bowl, measure and place the Corn Flakes.Â Then, put the first 3 ingredients into a sauce pan and bring to a rolling boil.Â Remove from heat and add the vanilla and peanut butter, stirring until all of the peanut butter is melted and the mixture is smoothe.Â Then, pour the liquid mixture over the Corn Flakes and stir well with a rubber scraper, coating everything.Â Drop by tablespoonful onto parchment paper and allow to cool.
