Chuck-a-Luck Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Red: Cut TWO (2) 1 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips.
  • Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 1 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips.
  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut SIX (6) 1 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strips.
  • White: Cut FOUR 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.

  • Turquoise: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square.
  • Turquoise: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strips.
  • Turquoise: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ strips.
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 2″ x 9 1/2″ strip.
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 11″ strips.
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 2″ x 12 1/2″ strip.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 2″ x 2 1/2″ square.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 2 ” x 4″ strips.

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square.
  • Purple: Cut THREE (3) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 4 3/4″ squares.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.

  • Dark Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares.
  • Turquoise: Cut FOUR (4) 1 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ strips.
  • Blue: Cut TWO (2) 2″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
