Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (precise 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Purple:Â Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strip.
Purple:Â Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square.
Purple:Â Cut ONE (1) 6 1/2″ square.
Yellow:Â Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strips.
Yellow:Â Cut TWO (2) 3 1/2″ squares.
Neutral:Â Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ strip.
Neutral:Â Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square.

Quilt Block Construction Diagram:

Using this image (above) as a guide, sew your Rocky Road quilt block together following the suggested directions.Â Once the top two rows are sewn together and the bottom squares are sewn together, finish your quilt block by sewing the (now) two rows to each other.

Cutting Requirements for 12â€³ finished block (precise 1/4â€³ seam allowance):

Brown:Â Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares.Â Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.Â You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
Brown:Â Cut TWO (2) 7 1/4″ squares.Â Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times) each.Â You will end up with EIGHT (8) triangles – you only need SIX (6) for this quilt block.
White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares.Â Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.Â You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square.Â Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2 times) each.Â You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
