Star Power: Frayed Sawtooth Star & Frayed Sawtooth Star Variation

Frayed Sawtooth Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Gold: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares.
  • Green: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares.
  • White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ squares.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips.

  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares.

  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ strips.

Judy’s Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Light Blue: Cut ONE (1) 4 3/4″ square.
  • Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Bright Blue: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares.

Wheat Field Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Tan: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. Then draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, on the back side of each square.
  • Mustard: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • Dark Brown: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 6 3/4″ strips. Cut TWO (2) 3 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
