Bright Future Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (TWO (2) of these will help create the center of this quilt block. The remaining TWO (2) of these are the upper left-hand & lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (TWO (2) of these will help create the center of this quilt block. The remaining TWO (2) of these are the upper tight-hand & lower left-hand corners this quilt block.)
- Pink: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These are flanked by the results of the White
3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Pink 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Blue 2 7/8″ squares which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Lt. Blue 3 3/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
