Southern Belle Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Pink: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Lt. Red 6 7/8″ squares & will create a Four-Patch. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
- Lt. Red: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares. They’re also the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Lt. Red: Cut ONE (1) 6 7/8″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Pink 6 7/8″ squares & will create a Four-Patch. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block as needed to sew it together.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Lt. Red 7 1/4″ squares. They’re also the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
