Wings Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Peach: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Peach: Cut FOUR (4) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (FOUR (4) of these triangles will be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. All of them will be paired with the Peach/White Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Rust: Cut SIX (6) 2 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- Rust: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares. They’ll also be paired with the results of the Rust 2 3/8″ squares. All are needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the Rust/White Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut SIX (6) 2 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the White 2 3/8″ squares, which will create TWELVE (12) Half-Square Triangles, as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Rust/White Half-Square Triangles as needed to sew this quilt block together.)
