Baton Rouge Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Blue 2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the results of the Purple
2 3/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.) - Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the of the White
2 5/8″ squares, to partially create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.) - Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Purple 2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the results of the Blue 2 3/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the of the White
2 5/8″ squares, to partially create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares, as needed for this quilt block.) - Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Purple 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles & the results of the White 3 3/4″ squares. They’ll also help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ squares. (These will be flanked by the results of both the Purple 2 3/8″ squares & the results of the Blue 2 3/8″ squares. Which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 6 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
