  15. Such beautiful bright colors! I have been quilting for about four years, now and free motion quilting right out of the gate. However, as a beginner, I always tried to match my thread colors to blend in, so as not to show any messy stitching! With much practice, I am now more confident in my quilting, and have been using contrasting threads to actually show my stitching. Aurifil is my favorite thread to use.

  16. I LOVE Aurifil!! This collection is beautiful! I have a few quilts in the UFO pile that need some quilting, that is what I would use this for.

  17. I bought my first Aurifil two months ago and fell in love with it! I want to win to make a midnight stars quilt–black background with lots of bright batik stars. Then I can display the thread so I can admire it and be inspired for future projects.

  18. If this thread lasts as long as you say then I will be making lots and lots of things! Right now I’m working on several different mini-quilts and table runner projects, and I always throw a few bags and fabric organizers into the picture too. It really depends on my mood.

  23. I am a thread snob too – or at least my machine is. It loves 50 weight thread. Thanks so much for this opportunity to win. The thread would be used in several quilts and an occasional doll or clothing item. And thanks for your inspiring blog too! The story of how you started quilting is very moving.

  27. Taking my first Free Motion Quilting class! Enrolled in a day long class at a local quilt shop so all this Aurifil would accompany me and inspire me to keep my hands/fingers/quilt sandwich moving. Of course I know I’ll have plenty left so my next goal is applique. I love orange and have already a pattern or two in a sun motif and I can start there w/the Aurifil, appliqueing around my sun.
