Lords a Leaping Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Rust: Cut ONE (1) 2 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
Rust: Cut TWO (2) 3″ squares. (These are the lower left-hand & the upper right-hand corners of this quilt block. They’re flanked by the results of the White 3 3/8″ squares.)
Rust: Cut ONE (1) 5 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the White
3 2/8″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
Rust: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will flank ONE (1) end of the Rust 1 7/8″ x 2 5/8″ rectangles which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball Corners. TWO (2) of these Snowball Corners will be the upper left-hand & the lower right-hand corners of this quilt block.)
Rust: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ x 2 5/8″ rectangles. (These are flanked by the Rust 1 7/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Snowball Corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are flanked by the Rust 1 7/8″ x 2 5/8″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 3 3/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the Rust 2 1/2″ square & they’ll also flank the Rust 5 7/8″ square. All are needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 4 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are paired with the Rust 1 7/8″ x 2 5/8″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.)
White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ rectangles. (These are the horizontal & the vertical centers of this quilt block.)

Christmas Mice Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):

Peach: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create the final Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
Rust: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Rust 3 3/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Snowball corners, as needed for this quilt block.)
Rust: Cut FOUR (4) 3 3/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Rust 3 3/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Rust: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the results of the White 3 1/2″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/2″ square. (This is flanked by the results of the Rust 4 1/4″ square. Which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Rust 4 1/4″ square, which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square, as needed for the center of this quilt block.)
White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank the Rust 3 3/8″ squares, as well as the results of the Peach 7 1/4″ squares. All are needed for this quilt block.)

Dk. Pink: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Pink: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the White 3 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ squares. (These are paired with the Pink 2″ squares & will help create the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Pink 2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.)
Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 5/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with either the Red 2 5/8″ squares or the Red 2 5/8″ x 6 7/8″ rectangles. Which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corners. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.

Green: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares, which will create EIGHT (8) Half-Square Triangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
Green: Cut TWO (2) 2 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These will flank TWO (2) ends of the Green 1 1/4″ x 5 1/5″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.)
Green: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Green 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.)
Green: Cut TWO (2) 1 1/2″ x 6″ rectangles. (These are the horizontal rectangles in the center of this quilt block.)
Green: Cut ONE (1) 1 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ rectangle. (This is the vertical center rectangle of this quilt block.)

The Kindred Spirits Quilt Guild’s Making my “Mistletoe in the Morning” BOM quilt!

“Mistletoe in the Morning”

We are Kindred Spirits quilt guild from Livonia, MI. We just started up again after Covid. We anticipate 30-40 members to rejoin.

In the past, there has not been a large turnout for the BOM, because it was too time consuming for many of the members. This pattern “Mistletoe in the Corner” caught my eye as it looked fun, versatile & cost effective for those members that are on a fixed income.

As you can see from the pictures (below) many members chose to participate! They all expressed the ease of the pattern, easy to understand directions & it has been fun to do. And, that is what we need, a little fun!
