King’s Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the White 4 1/2″ square, which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Blue: Cut TWO (2) 6 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 1 7/8″ x
6 1/8″ rectangles & the White 1 7/8″ x 9″ rectangles. Which will create a “frame” around the Square in a Square for this quilt block.) - White: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is flanked by the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ square which will create a Square in a Square. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ x 6 1/8″ rectangles. (These will flank the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ square & will “frame” the Square in a Square for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 1 7/8″ x 9″ rectangles. (These will flank the results of the Blue 5 1/4″ square & will “frame” the Square in a Square for this quilt block.)
