Paul’s Star Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Sage Green: Cut ONE (1) 1 7/8″ square. (This will be flanked on all FOUR (4) sides, by the Chartreuse Green 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles. It will also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Sage Green: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Chartreuse Green: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These will be flanked by the results of the White 3 7/8″ squares. They will also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Chartreuse Green: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ squares. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These will flank the Chartreuse Green 1 7/8″ x
3 3/8″ rectangles, which will create FOUR (4) Snowball Corner’s, as needed for this quilt block. - Chartreuse Green: Cut FOUR (4) 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles. (These will be flanked on ONE (1) end by the results of the Chartreuse Green 1 7/8″ squares & on the opposite end by the Sage Green 1 7/8″ square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank on TWO (2) sides the results of the Chartreuse Green 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles & on the other side by the results of the Sage Green 1 7/8″ x 3 3/8″ rectangles, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will be flanked by the results of the results of the Sage Green 7 1/4″ square, which will create FOUR (4) Flying Geese, as needed for this quilt block.)
