The Windmill Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Blue: Cut FOUR (4) 4 1/2″ squares. (These are flanked on THREE (3) sides by either the results of the Lt. Blue 2 7/8″ squares, or the White 2 7/8″, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Lt. Blue: Cut TEN (10) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 2 7/8″ which will create TWENTY Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block. The remaining ONE (1) Half-Square Triangle is the center of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TEN (10) 2 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Lt. Blue 2 7/8″ which will create TWENTY Half-Square Triangles. FOUR (4) of these Half-Square Triangles are the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block. The remaining ONE (1) Half-Square Triangle is the center of this quilt block.)
