Anna’s Love Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Lt. Pink: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Bright Pink 3 7/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles for this quilt block. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Lt. Pink: Cut TWO (2) 6 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’ll create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
- Bright Pink: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. (This is paired with the Lt. Pink 3 7/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles for this quilt block. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Bright Pink: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. On the back side of the squares draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (This is paired with the Purple 3 7/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles for this quilt block. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Bright Pink: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This will flank the results of the Purple 3 7/8″ square, which will be 1/4 of a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Dark Pink: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. (This is paired with the Bright Pink 3 7/8″ square which will create TWO (2) Half-Square Triangles. You only need ONE (1) of these Half-Square Triangles for this quilt block. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Dark Pink: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. You only need TWO (2) of these triangles for this quilt block. (These will flank the left & right sides of the center, which will create 1/2 of a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut ONE (1) 3 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles. (These will flank the results of the White 7 1/4″ square which will create ONE (1) Flying Geese. It’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Purple: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This will flank the results of the Bright Pink 3 7/8″ square, which will create 1/4 of a Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square. You only need ONE (1) of these triangles for this quilt block. (This will be flanked by the results of the Purple 3 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Flying Geese. It’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
