Twisted Star Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Purple: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Purple: Cut SIX (6) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Purple: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • Gray: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Gray: Cut FOUR 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Gray: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR 2 3/4″ squares.

Twisted Star Variation Quilt Block

Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):

  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. On the back side draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time.
  • Red: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.

  • Gray: Cut FOUR 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square.
  • Gray: Cut ONE (1) 3 1/4″ square. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
  • White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strips.

  • White: Cut TEN (10) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.
  • White: Cut TWO (2) 5 1/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You will end up with FOUR (4) triangles per square.

Quilting JOY

Although I am a bit late to finding what my word would be for the year, I have finally settled on JOY.  I want to find joy in my quilting.  Joy in my family.  Joy in my day-to-day life!
