More Family Christmas 2011

Quilt Therapy Posted on January 4, 2012 by TK HarrisonJanuary 3, 2012

My husband only has one sister, who has two children.  And his mother.  So, we traditionally have a get-together with a small family gathering.  We have a great dinner, followed by the all important gift exchanging:

We start with comparing the OLD stockings – hubby and sister have the oldest stockings in the house!

There is NOTHING that makes a teenage boy happier than FOOD!  Check out this Redneck Gift Bag!

And a Christmas quilt for our niece!

Family Christmas 2011

Quilt Therapy Posted on January 3, 2012 by TK HarrisonJanuary 3, 2012

No family Christmas is quite complete without a rundown of the gifts, the love and the funnies that happen when Santa Clause comes to town.

Our youngest daughter put out the required cookies, milk and a sweet letter for Santa.

WOW, look!  Santa came!

Been waiting for a LONG time for this book!

Just what he wanted!

I coulda SWORE this was a turtle – but, alas, it is a frog pet pillow.  So, daughter #2 figured if she just covered its head, no one would know!

She asked for an easel – why not buy her the smallest one (with canvases) I could find?!

SWEET!  On top of Santa, the Tooth Fairy Came and left money for TWO teeth!

HILARIOUS!  Only box I could find for the son-man was a GIRLY box.  He was NOT amused (despite the smile).

ummmm, she got a bag of balls.  And she announced it.  And then she realized what she said.  🙂

Our kids love puzzles, think she’s trying to figure out, mathematically, how long it will take to put a 500 piece puzzle together.

All in all, a great time was had – and another Christmas has come and gone and the kids totally enjoyed their day together.

Giving Thanks Through Grace

Quilt Therapy Posted on November 22, 2011 by TK HarrisonNovember 22, 2011

Our youngest daughter’s name is Grace – and she brought home an adorable “thanks” craft she made in school.  After she “let” me take photos of it, she ran it up to her grandmother’s house so it could be the Thanksgiving decorations while we dine on Thursday.

We are, despite a rough year, still Giving Thanks through Grace!
