Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Brown: Cut FIVE (5) 3 7/8″ squares. (These are flanked by the results of the White
3 3/4″ squares which will create FIVE (5) Square in a Squares. FOUR (4) of these Square in a Squares are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. The remaining ONE (1) Square in a Square is the center of this quilt block.) - Gold: Cut EIGHT (8) 3 1/4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 1/4″ squares which will create SIXTEEN (16) Half-Square Triangles.)
- Gold: Cut EIGHT (8) 2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Gold/White Half-Square Triangles.)
- Gold: Cut FOUR (4) 2″ x 3″ rectangles. (These are sewn between the Gold/White Half-Square Triangles.)
- White: Cut TEN (10) 3 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Brown 3 7/8″ squares to create FIVE (5) Square in a Squares. FOUR (4) of these Square in a Squares are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. The remaining ONE (1) Square in a Square is the center of this quilt block.)
