Hiking Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 8 3/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (TWO (2) of these triangles are flanked by the results of the Gold 4 3/4″ squares which will create TWO (2) Flying Geese. The other TWO (2) of these triangles, are flanked by the results of the Rust 4 3/4″ squares, which will create TWO (2) more Flying Geese.)
- Gold: Cut TWO (2) 2″ x 4″ rectangles. (These rectangles are paired between the Rust
3 1/2″ x 4″ rectangles. They’re the “trunks” of the “trees”) - Gold: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 4″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Rust 2″ x 4″ rectangles. They’re the setting blocks for the “trunks” of the “trees”)
- Gold: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of TWO (2) of the Yellow 8 3/8″ squares. Which will create TWO (2) Flying Geese.)
