Cobweb Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Black
4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Quarter-Square Triangle. When they’re sewn together they’ll be the center of this quilt block.) - Yellow: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. (These triangles are first paired with the results of the Black 5 1/4″ square. Then they’re paired with the results of the White 4 7/8″ squares. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- Black: Cut ONE (1) 4 7/8″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles. (These triangles are paired with the results of the Yellow
4 7/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Half-Square Triangle. When they’re sewn together they’ll be the center of this quilt block.) - Black: Cut ONE (1) 5 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. Will yield FOUR (4) triangles. (These triangles are first paired with the results of the Yellow 5 1/4″ square. Then they’re paired with the results of the White 4 7/8″ squares. Once they’re all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the Black/Yellow/White Split Half-Square Triangles in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the Yellow 5 1/4″ squares. They’re also paired with the results of the Black 5 1/4″ squares. When all sewn together they’ll create FOUR (4) Split Half-Square Triangles in the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block.)
