Arizona Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Dk. Blue: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the White 1 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. Once they’re sewn together they’ll be flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares.)
- Red: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares. (These are the FOUR (4) corners of this quilt block. They’re paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares.)
- Red: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block.)
- Red: Cut TWO (2) 4 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These are paired with the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 7/8″ squares. (These are paired with the Dk. Blue 1 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Four-Patches. Once they’re sewn together they’ll be flanked by the results of the White 2 7/8″ squares which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles will flank the Dk. Blue/White Four-Patches which will create FOUR (4) Square in a Squares once they’re all sewn together.)
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. Will yield TWO (2) triangles per square. (These triangles are paired with the Red 2 1/2″ squares in the corners of this quilt block.)
