Fair and Square Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ squares. (These are paired with the White 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.)
- Yellow: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Orange 1 1/2″ x
4 1/2″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.) - Orange: Cut TWO (2) 2 7/8″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the White 3 3/8″ square which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square. They’ll also help create the center of this quilt block.)
- Orange: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Yellow 1 1/2″ x
4 1/2″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.) - Orange: Cut FOUR (4) 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Yellow 1 1/2″ x
4 1/2″ rectangles as needed for this quilt block.) - White: Cut FOUR (4) 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. (These are paired with the Yellow 3 1/2″ squares as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut ONE (1) 3 3/8″ square. (This is the center of this quilt block. It’s flanked by the results of the Orange 2 7/8″ squares which will create ONE (1) Square in a Square.)
