Quilted Kitchen: Columbia Pinwheel Quilt Block & Easy Pinwheel Cookie Recipe
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (scant 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Green: Cut TWO (2) 4″ squares. (These are paired with the White 4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)
- Ash Green: Cut ONE (1) 7 1/4″ square. Then cut the square diagonally, corner-to-corner, TWO (2) times. You’ll end up with FOUR (4) triangles. (These will flank the results of the Olive Green 7″ squares, which will create the second Square in a Square, as needed for this quilt block. They’ll also be the FOUR (4) corner’s of this quilt block.)
- Olive Green: Cut TWO (2) 7″ squares. Then cut each square diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You’ll end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will flank the results of the Green 4″ squares & the results of the White 4″ squares. Which will create the first Square in a Square as needed for this quilt block.)
- White: Cut TWO (2) 4″ squares. On the back side of the squares, draw a diagonal line, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. (These are paired with the Green 4″ squares, which will create FOUR (4) Half-Square Triangles. They’ll also be the center of this quilt block.)

If you make TWELVE (12) “Columbia Pinwheel Quilt Blocks,” you’ll end up with the quilt top pictured above. The size will be 36″ x 48″ finished, 36 1/2″ x 48 1/2″ unfinished.
