Richmond Quilt Block
Cutting Requirements for 12″ finished block (precise 1/4″ seam allowance):
- Purple: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 3/4″ squares.
- Orange: Cut FOUR (4) 2 1/2″ squares.
- Orange: Cut ONE (1) 4 1/2″ square.
- Orange: Cut TWO (2) 4 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be paired with the Orange 2 1/2″ squares as well as the results from FOUR (4) of the White 2 3/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Interrupted Half-Square Triangles.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 1 3/4″ squares.
- White: Cut FOUR (4) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be paired with the Orange 2 1/2″ squares as well as the results from the Orange 4 3/4″ squares to create FOUR (4) Interrupted Half-Square Triangles.)
- White: Cut EIGHT (8) 2 3/4″ squares. Then cut the squares diagonally, corner-to-corner, ONE (1) time. You will end up with TWO (2) triangles per square. (These will be used to flank the Purple 1 3/4″ squares and the White 1 3/4″ squares.)
